shore & pier IJmuiden
This area includes broad beaches, a reed-fringed freshwater lake, young sand dunes and a 3 km. long pier into the North Sea.

Red-necked Grebe, Gannet, Brent Goose, Little Ringed Plover, Ringed Plover, Bar-tailed Godwit, Mediterranean Gull, Little Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Kittiwake, Sandwich Tern, Little Tern, Arctic Skua, Bluethroat, Ring Ouzel, Little Grebe, Red-necked Phalarope.
Birds in winter e.g.:
Red-throated Diver, Shag, Scaup, Eider, Common Scooter, Goldeneye, Red-breasted Merganser, Oystercatcher, Grey Plover, Knot, Sanderling, Purple Sandpiper, Dunlin, Turnstone, Guillemot, Rock Pipit, Twite.
